Celebrating people of all abilities - On 3 December, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD)

Their abilities are overlooked and their potential underestimated. To change this, the United Nations is working side by side with governments, international organizations, and civil society. On 3 December, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) is celebrated worldwide to promote awareness and mobilize support on critical issues to ensure that persons with disabilities are included in society and development. This year, the theme is "Break Barriers, Open Doors; for an inclusive society and development for all," and various activities will take place to underscore the importance of this theme.
